The Mississauga Business Enterprise Centre (MBEC) wrapped up their grand celebrations with their Digital Marketing Seminars this past month and are continuing to shine light on entrepreneurs building their businesses. In particular, MBEC encourages youth to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career option.
According to Industry Canada, Canada has a robust and growing small business and entrepreneurship community, with more than half concentrated in Ontario and Quebec, 407,175 and 235,075, respectively. Ipsos Canada states “no capital, need of steady income and fear of failure are top three barriers to starting a business” (2015). On the contrary, Ipsos poll results have identified flexible work/life balance as the number one reason for choosing entrepreneurship (61%). As a result, MBEC is committed to supporting the needs of small business and entrepreneurship development in Mississauga, which includes youth entrepreneurship.
MBEC encourages youth entrepreneurship in Mississauga by providing them with young entrepreneurship programs, resources, information, and tools to support them in their entrepreneurial endeavors.
