I’ve just come back from the Sweets and Snacks Expo in Chicago. Did you know that over 3,000 new candy and snacks products are launched every year in North America?
As a member of the Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance, I joined some of our colleagues from the Ontario Food Cluster to meet with food companies in the sweets and snacks food category that might be interested in expanding their operations into Ontario. Ontario’s food cluster is among the three largest food and beverage processing jurisdictions in North America and the largest in Canada.
Gimmick marketing and strange flavours aside, the food and beverage industry can be as innovative as any sector. In attendance, from Mississauga’s food and beverage sector comprising of over 500 companies, was Mississauga’s own AWAKE Chocolate also featured in season 7 of CBC’s Dragons’ Den
