Attention Business Owners!
Mayor Crombie is hosting the first annual Mayor’s Youth Employment Expo. The expo seeks to connect employers and businesses with talented individuals currently looking to fill full-time, part-time and seasonal positions, in addition to youth seeking paid internships, volunteer opportunities and co-op placements.
The goal of the expo is simple; create mutually beneficial connections between talented youth in search of employment and local businesses in need of talented youth.
In the Peel Region, the unemployment rate among youth aged 15-24 is higher than the national average at 17% (2014), compared to 14% nationally. This represents more than 32,000 young people and it is anticipated that youth unemployment rates will continue to climb as more young people are entering the job market.
Participating employers will be provided free booth space and have direct access to some of Peel Region’s brightest young minds. Should you wish to participate, please contact the Mayor’s Office at Mayor@Mississauga.ca to reserve your booth space.
When: Sunday, June 12th, 2016
Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Where: City of Mississauga, Civic Centre (Great Hall) – 300 City Centre Drive, Mississauga
