The recent hiring announcement from Ford Motor Company of Canada is a clear indication that Ontario can make the business case for future investments, and that government, in partnership with industry, unions, and academia, can play a collective role in ensuring a competitive and sustainable automotive industry in Canada and Ontario going forward.
The creation of 1,000 direct automotive assembly jobs is good reason to celebrate and great news for Mississauga businesses that support the province’s automotive sector. It is also a reminder that we need to continue to work collaboratively to win new investments for years to come.
