Today marks the first day of Global Biotechnology Week (September 26th -October 2nd). The purpose of Global Biotech Week is to raise awareness of the industry and its global potential among policymakers, policy influencers and the general public more broadly. All countries are invited to join in on the celebration and use Global Biotech Week to showcase their country’s success and the industry’s global significance.
Today, I attended a great presentation at a Life Sciences Ontario (LSO) event, to kick-off Global Biotechnology Week, where Mayor Bonnie Crombie gave remarks. There was important information shared about Mississauga’s large and diverse life sciences cluster which is home to Canada’s 2nd largest life sciences cluster employing over 25,000.
The City of Mississauga Life Sciences team congratulates and celebrates all innovative corporations within our life sciences ecosystem for their contributions to the health and well-being of our city and beyond!
