Attention entrepreneurs! Partners of the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs (The ONE Network) in Peel officially launched its Unlock Your Big Idea Pitch Competition on Tuesday, February 9th from 4pm to 6pm at Humber College, North Campus.
The objective of the competition is to support the development of ventures from idealization to commercialization for the creation of companies for economic prosperity in the Western GTA.
The Unlock Your Big Idea (UYBI) pitch competition will provide entrepreneurs in the Western GTA with the opportunity to compete for a chance to win a share of $62,500 and mentorship through the Ontario Network of Entrepreneurs to accelerate their business.
There is a $10,000 grand prize & $2,500 runner-up prize for each of the following categories:
- Best New Innovation for Tech Business
- Best Disruptive Innovation
- Best New Innovation for Small Business
- Best “Investment Ready” Company
Audience-choice winner gets $10,000 and runner-up receives $2,500.
Six information sessions will be held in Brampton, Mississauga and Toronto in February and March to help entrepreneurs with their Unlock Your Big Idea application. The City of Mississauga’s Mississauga Business Enterprise Centre will hold an Unlock Your Big Idea: Information Session on February 16th at the Mississauga Central Library.
Deadline for UYBI applications is March 18, 2016. The live pitch finale event will take place on May 5, 2016 at the University of Toronto Mississauga.
