May 8 – 14, 2016, marks a first of-its- kind ‘Economic Development Week’; an event created by the International Economic Development Council . It provides economic developers the opportunity to increase their community’s awareness about the beneficial work being done within the profession and how that work helps to contribute to the creation of jobs and wealth, and the improvement of quality of life within the City of Mississauga.
The idea of trumpeting your own horn is unnerving, but on the other hand, if you can’t share the accomplishments of your good work with others then that work will simply go unnoticed.
While predominantly in the background of business announcements and grand openings, your professional economic development practitioners strive to influence growth and restructuring of our economy to enhance the economic well-being of our great city. Our efforts focus on job creation, job retention, tax base enhancements and quality of life improvements.
While we endeavor to realize our made-in Mississauga Economic Development Strategy – which represents the overall vision and desired outcomes for the type of community that we seek to become, we also work daily and tirelessly to provide consultation and advice to both existing and prospective businesses that are looking to make an investment or location decision in our city.
As economic development professionals, we are dedicated to the provision of good customer service and aspire to be part of a business solution process. We uphold a business development mind-set and do our utmost to add value with our clients; always seeking to understand what they are trying to fix, accomplish or avoid. We provide a full suite of service offerings to earn the respect and trust of our clients from within the city and abroad. We are in the business of finding solutions.
