Innovation4D connects the venture capital community with the SME’s working in the Xerox Research Centre of Canada’s Innovation Hub. This premier event features guest speakers, a tour of a state-of-the-art pilot plant, pitch sessions, and networking opportunities.
Since 2013, the Xerox Research Centre of Canada has been nurturing an innovation hub in Mississauga, Ontario. With the help of its hub partners – RIC Centre and GreenCentre Canada – together they have developed an ecosystem focused on advanced materials, advanced manufacturing, and Cleantech.
The City of Mississauga is a proud sponsor of the Innovation 4D, and would like to showcase the six innovative companies that are participating in the program.
AOMS Technologies is a company that displays great innovation and business growth across the greater Toronto region. AOMS Technologies is currently located inside the Xerox Research Centre and is the featured company this week.
AOMS aims to harness the power optics to advance the state of sensor technology through the development of innovative products using the latest fibre optic technologies.
With this mission in mind, AOMS has developed an integrated sensing technology using fiber optics for applications where existing solutions fail or underperform. AOMS Fiber Optic Sensing (AOMS-FOS) platform is designed to be a part of Industry 4.0 and the global transition to Industrial Internet of Things. The technology enables high-fidelity measurement of multiple parameters (i.e., temperature, pressure, humidity/moisture, and structural integrity) in harsh environments, such as contaminated brownfields, power generation plants, heavy manufacturing factories, and chemical processing plants.
AOMS has developed a novel way of encapsulating, embedding, and integrating fiber optics in metal compartments with particular patterns that enable sensing of multiple parameters on a single point of fiber optic cable, resulting in lower overall cost, simplicity of installation, and more accurate measurements.
