Mississauga is a multicultural and diverse city with over 1,400 multinational firms and 130 languages spoken here. With the strategic goal to become a global business magnet, the Economic Development Office (EDO) often looks at ways to better serve and support international business investors in making the move to Mississauga. For that reason, I arranged a service briefing with the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade & Employment’s Business Immigration Branch to learn more about the services they offer to businesses looking to expand in Ontario and specifically Mississauga.
The Business Immigration Branch supports the Ministry’s economic development and job creation mandates through supporting employers and investors with their foreign talent needs, attracting and stimulating new foreign investment and entrepreneurship, leveraging global business connections and investment partners, and promoting Ontario’s international profile. The Business Immigration Branch also provides specific employer program and advisory services including; temporary foreign worker permits, fast-tracked permanent residency for investors via the Provincial Nominee Program, and business referrals for landed business immigrants to start their business in Ontario.
By leveraging the services of the Business Immigration Branch, EDO will be in a better position to connect foreign businesses with the right tools and services to ensure their transition in Ontario is a smooth one, and that Mississauga continues to be a location of choice for international investment.
If you are a business looking to expand or locate in Mississauga, please fill out the contact form on site and one of our business experts will be happy to work with you.
