Priscilla Boateng is a Mississauga Business Enterprise Centre’s (MBEC) recipient of the Ontario Starter Company Grant who took her business idea “Style Me Ankara” and launched it on March 2014. StyleMeAnkara.ca is an exciting new twist to African inspired clothing and accessories. The e-commerce enabled site offers traditional African prints with Western influenced flair to an international market.
Since her launch, Priscilla has provided us with a few updates on her success. “I collaborated with two Canadian Fashion bloggers Jackline from Sincerelymissj and Aisha from thestylematriarch during the summer/fall to promote my brand.” Her brand was also recently featured in Afroelle 2015 Holiday gift guide.
“The support I have received from MBEC has been invaluable. I will continue to use their services to grow my business.”
Priscilla has recently completed her designs for the 2016 Spring/Summer Collection and is currently working on manufacturing her designs with a pattern maker and seamstress.
Priscilla is just one example of a many young entrepreneurs across Ontario turning their business ideas into reality with support from local business enterprise centres and young entrepreneur programs funded by the Province of Ontario.
