The BIO Conference has just officially opened today, and already we have networked with hundreds of companies and organizations from all over the world. It has been a great opportunity to tell them about what a great city Mississauga is, and how our life sciences cluster continues to grow and contributes to the health and wellbeing of people globally.
Attending this conference every year, is a great reminder of how important it is to engage industry experts to gain a solid understanding of the current and future trends of the life sciences industry on national and international level. This reinforces the City’s Economic Development Office’s decision to create a new position for a Life Sciences Business Consultant, who would be dedicated to developing and implementing initiatives to advance the city’s Life Sciences sector.
Adding this new staff resource is outlined and supported by the City’s Economic Development Strategy to help Mississauga become a Global Business Magnet, by targeting opportunities in the life sciences sector. The new consultant will continue to build upon our existing community, and sustain an on-going dialogue among leaders in academia, industry and healthcare.
