Applied research focuses on practical problem solving and tends to be a catalyst for advancement and innovation. From an educational institution’s perspective it’s also a great way to introduce students to real world challenges while building valuable experience by applying in-class knowledge.
Between 2012-2013, Sheridan College engaged in over 85 applied research projects that supported more than 73 organizations. Sheridan College ranks number one for Ontario colleges by total research income, according to the Top 50 Research Colleges List (2013) published by Research Infosource Inc. This ranking looks at public-funded colleges on a national level and ranked them based on research income.
