Some of the most innovative ideas come from young minds. However, with most of a youth’s time often spent in school, these ideas are sometimes put on hold. This is where the Summer Company Program comes in.
The Summer Company Program is a youth entrepreneurship program funded by the Government of Ontario and is delivered by various Small Business Enterprise Centres throughout Ontario.
The Mississauga Business Enterprise Centre (MBEC) delivers the Summer Company program for the Mississauga area. The purpose of the program is to help aspiring young entrepreneurs start and operate a new business during the summer months with the support of training, mentoring and the opportunity to receive up to $3,000 grant to help with their business.
The program is offered to youth aged 15 to 29 years old who are attending high school, college, or University in Ontario and are returning to school after the program ends.
The Summer Company program typically takes place between May to August each year.
