It’s more important now than ever for a city’s business plan to demonstrate, responsibility and transparency with the spending of taxpayers’ hard-earned money. Therefore, understanding current economic conditions is vital, given that public demand for accountability and value for money is increasing.
Citizens may often wonder What are the City’s priorities? Where does the City get money from? and, How are tax dollars spent? To help answer these questions, the City of Mississauga created a brief video.

The City of Mississauga also provides a variety of opportunities for its citizens to get involved with the budget process, such as the 2016 Budget Allocator, an excellent tool to put citizens in charge of spending the city’s budget.

• Email questions and comments to firstname.lastname@example.org
• Submit comments directly to Budget Committee through public question period
• Follow discussions via Mayor/Councillor news updates
• Attend or live stream Budget Committee meetings.
